I was born and raised in Kansas City, Kansas. I doubled majored in Art and English (creative writing) and was told that neither would make me a living. So I graduated from Pittsburg State with a degree in secondary education. Then I stumbled into the career of owning an insurance agency, which is my day job in Joplin, Missouri.

Over the years I have enjoyed art in many forms, from hooking rhea rugs to silver-smithing, from welding sculptures to molding clay, and now landscape photography. I have been fortunate to do a lot of traveling, and have found that I have an ability to share what my eyes capture, and reflect, through the lens. I feel compelled to share my joy in capturing the right moment in time on film. I started Photoscapes, LLC in the winter of 2003. I exhibit and compete in local fine art competitions in order to fulfill a dream of being known as an ARTIST in the second phase of my life.
