NEW ORLEANS: Voodoo Experience: Conjuring up Three Days of Music

For Halloween, New Orleans will conjure up a weekend of voodoo: the Voodoo Experience 2009 music festival, billed as “the ultimate weekend for entertainment in America.”
Headliners among more than 150 acts at the 11th annual Voodoo Experience include Eminem, Lenny Kravitz, KISS, Jane’s Addiction, Widespread Panic, The Flaming Lips and Justice. The festival at historic City Park runs Friday, Oct. 30, Saturday, Oct. 31 and Sunday, Nov. 1 celebrate music.
Eminem will give his first full performance in over four years and only scheduled concert of 2009. The reunited Jane’s Addiction will appear with all of the original members. Widespread Panic will perform as part their annual Halloween tradition (1997-2002) of live shows in the city.
New Orleans’ signature fall music event, highlighting the Big Easy’s bohemian culture, arts and cuisine, offered with three days of entertainment at City Park amidst lush lagoons and bayous. The historic park has one of the largest collections of mature oak trees in the world, all in the shadow of the New Orleans Museum of Art and just minutes from the historic French Quarter and Central Business District.
Three distinct performance areas--Le Ritual, Le Flambeau and Le Carnival--and eight stages each highlight a unique side of the personality of New Orleans. The Voodoo Experience lineup has “bridged the social, economic and generational gaps by creating a unique event with a commitment to every genre of music while at the same time celebrating the sounds of the region.”

Additionally, festival producers will absorb all ticket surcharges saving attendees approximately 15% on each purchase. This comprehensive ticket price applies to ALL tickets sold for this year’s Voodoo Experience. ( If you get a weekend pass, you get in-and-out privileges, but not with one-day tickets. Upon entry, your ticket will be exchanged for a wristband. Don’t lose that wristband, or you’ll have to buy another ticket.
