Biography:
BUFFALO NEW YORK ARTIST, LINDA MUNSCHAUER, posts a friend's article which recalls his memory of first ART creations and her first adventure entering her acrylic paintings in the Allentown Art Festival in Buffalo, New York..... The Buffalo, New York Artist, Linda Munschauer, has been painting with Acrylics since childhood. She started drawing and painting on the placemats at every restaurant, whether it was the Pizza Hut, Swiss Chalet, La Hacienda or the Park Lane. But recently, Linda Munschauer has moved on, and for the first time entered her thirteen original acrylic paintings in the annual ALLENTOWN ART FESTIVAL in Buffalo, New York. Linda, now 27, is working on her second college degree, is a full time mom, and works part time. Not being able to afford the "prime" exhibit area, she shared the price of a tent with a friend in the music section, blocks away from where you would expect to see Fine Art. The Allentown Art Festival has grown beyond expectations. It is centered in the heart of Buffalo covering much of its west side, closing off Delaware Avenue and many high traffic areas. Artists from all regions arrive to display their works every year. Having no experience in preparing for such a big event, Linda made that last minute emergency call to her family for help with wiring, sheet rock, hanging the thirteen paintings and all was accomplished the morning of the event. Friends and family stood by watching Linda discuss and show her paintings during the two-day event. Every visitor received a postcard, each with a different image of her paintings and contact information. The excitement on Linda's face and in her voice while talking with every visitor was overwhelming. It was also overwhelming to hear Linda respond to a potential buyer, "Each is $500.00". Linda had no prints… only her originals. She stated that she did not come to sell her paintings. Throughout the two days, various artists kept up with the others' sales progress, including Linda's. Linda reported often that she had not yet sold a painting. They looked surprised because her little tent was filled with people at all times. At the end of the second day, we wondered if Linda was a little sad because she had not received an offer for a painting. Obviously not. Even while tearing down the tent, Linda was still greeting and talking with the visitors. With a huge glow she said, "I am so happy that I finally got to show my paintings". Well, the next day, Linda received a call from a visitor at the festival, who stated that she could not stop looking at the image on the postcard. The painting was SOLD! What a glorious moment for her...and so…this BUFFALO, NEW YORK ARTIST, LINDA MUNSCHAUER is now preparing for the 2007 ANNUAL ALLENTOWN ART FESTIVAL. Linda is a great artist and most notable is what I realized after those two days: Happiness, laughter, sunshine, passion, enthusiasm, beauty in thirteen paintings, and Linda Munschauer are all synonymous.
Hi there! Let me introduce myself. You may call me Linda. I am twenty-seven years old. I continue to go to college and am "somewhat" of a professional student as well as a full-time new mom. I have been studying Anthropology for quite a few years now. I am three credits away from a degree in Cultural Anthropology because I need to take a STATISTICS course. However, this past year I have decided that I need to go into a field that will help me to become more financially stable. My original plan was to get grants to travel around the world and study people of other cultures. I wanted to travel to Africa and South America to compare different species of Old World and New World monkeys. And decide whether or not I agree with Darwin and his theory of evolution. However, now since I am a mother. I don't think that I will be traveling too much until my little boy gets a little older. Especially overseas, I would like him to be old enough to understand where we are and what I am "trying" to do. So...I have decided to become a Nurse.
So, my goal in life is to make this world a better place and to be a fantastic mom .
I would like to join a group of artists to share our passion of ART & ART & ART!! I recently sold my first painting at Allentown Art Festival. It was an amazing feeling knowing that someone (other than me or my family) liked my work. I am a mom, a professional student, and I paint with acrylics. I have a website built by a professional that was never completely finished. I hope to finish it myself in the near future.
