Description

A New Orleans native, I work with some of my favorite chefs to help you eat like a local! My tours will get you into the neighborhoods outside of the French Quarter to taste and experience what makes New Orleans food culture so unique! You'll learn about our history, architecture and culture between stops. Tours meet at a designated location and last between 2.5-3 hours. Your ticket includes curated food & drink (alcoholic & non-alcoholic) at 3 stops, as well as tax and tip at each, plus some bonus stops, so you can sit back and enjoy! Walking is light to moderate- broken up between stops, it never exceeds 1 mile total. Tours are all-weather, so bring what you need to be comfortable and your walking shoes! We accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions if we are made aware of them 48 hrs in advance. Children and teens welcome (same ticket price)- please let us know in advance if anyone is under 21 so we can accommodate.

Garden District Tour Option: Home to historic mansions, hauntingly beautiful cemeteries and giant oak trees, this district is the romance of New Orleans. Close to the St. Charles streetcar, we meet at Lafayette Cemetery to tour the oldest of the seven municipal cemeteries in New Orleans. See the above-ground tombs New Orleans is known for and learn our unique traditions! Then it's on to the food at 3 stops- enjoy a favorite neighborhood eatery for "real New Orleans food cooked like ya' Mama" at Joey K's. Enjoy local Gulf seafood and faves like red beans or gumbo. Next, enjoy an inspired and modern take on Mississippi River Delta comfort food at Red Dog, where everything is made in-house with love (you'll also try a popular cocktail). We finish with a Creole dessert: learn the history of chicory cafe au lait and beignets! During walks between stops, learn our lingo, traditions, architecture and a little history. Curated food, a curated cocktail, a local beer, coffee, tax & tip are included in your ticket so you can sit back and relax! I accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions, as long as I know in advance. These tours are great for couples and big groups - let me do the planning so you can enjoy the best NOLA offers!

Bywater Tour Option: A gem on the Mississippi River, the Bywater neighborhood combines our local character with the changing face of revitalization in post-Katrina New Orleans. The arts, food & bar scene are the main draw to this bohemian neighborhood, driven by local economy and cultural entrepreneurship. Taste the history of our Creole roots and Cajun influence at three stops- see how our food is changing with our culture. Start at Elizabeth's for gumbo, boudin, fried green tomatoes and other specialties. Then, eat like a local, with a po-boy and a Barq's from one of Bywater's staple corner stores. We end the tour at Bacchanal - enjoy cheese and wine in "New Orleans' backyard": an unconventional wine shop with live music, a welcoming wine garden and a 200 year old building on the river. During short walks between stops, take a photo on the Mississippi, learn our lingo, traditions, architecture and a little history. Curated food at each stop as well as a coffee, a wine, a soda, tax & tip are all included, so you can sit back and relax! I accommodate allergies and dietary restrictions if I know in advance. These tours are great for couples and big groups, also- let me do the planning so you can enjoy the best NOLA has to offer!
